On our recent visit to Thirsk for the first English show of the year it was a step into the unknown as we entered the hall, would the entry be good, would the show be successful, would fanciers attend? I am pleased to say it was a yes on all points we were faced with 126 pens for the Dutch and English and a hall full of fanciers chatting and enjoying the chance to meet up again after so long.
Hopefully we will have a good entry for our first show of the year at Barton Le Clay on October 17th to keep our judge Derek Medlock busy throughout the day. In addition to the Midland Counties ASS and U/5mth Support Show there is also London English ASS judged by Glen Hodson and Luton Open Show that will be judged by Steve Germany, three opportunities to show your stock on the same day. The club is extremely grateful to Luton Rabbit Club for hosting our show so lets reward them with a record entry.
Of course, as things get back to something like normality we have to turn our attention towards the future for the Midland Counties English Rabbit Club. I realise 2022 may seem a long way of but membership subscriptions will resume again for the coming year. I am pleased to say that they will remain the same as previous years Adults £6.00: Juveniles and Senior Citizens £5.00: I sincerely hope we will be able to maintain the levels of prvious years and continue to move our club forward.
One thing I would like you all to think about is the club yearbook. Though its still three months before the material goes to the printers, the emphasis is on material. We cannot produce a yearbook without content so please give the matter some thought. I am sure many of you have stories to tell of how you dealt with your stock and breeding programme with no shows to attend and the uncertainty of what lay ahead
See you at Barton Le Clay
